- 1985 - Won the BC High School Cross Country Championships while in grade 11.
- 1986 - Won the US High School Indoor Championships 3000m.
- 1987 - Broke the BC Junior records in 1500m, 3000m & 5000m.
- 1987 - Canadian National Junior Team member.
- 1987 - Awarded BC Athletics Outstanding Junior Athlete of the year.
- 1987 - Ranked 9th in the World for Juniors in the 1500m.
