GEA Annual General Meeting

As a non-profit society, Golden Ears Athletics is required to hold an Annual General Meeting of Members. The 2010 Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, February 26th, 2011 at 7:00pm in the rotunda area at Thomas Haney Senior Secondary. All parents of athletes, athletes (of legal voting age) and coaches who participated with the club in the 2010 season are entitled to vote at this meeting.


2011 Track & Field Program Registration

As Welcome to the 2011 Track And Field season at Golden Ears Athletics. We look forward to another outstanding year and we are ready to go!

Golden Ears Athletics offers a developmental program for ages six through high school which provides an opportunity for young athletes to run and train throughout the year in an organized setting. We welcome any level of running, jumping or throwing ability. All of the coaches and board members are committed and care very much about the success of each athlete.

2011 Program Registration

In-person registration for this years season will be held on the following dates and locations:

  • Saturday, February 26, 2011 : 3pm - 5pm - Rotunda area, Thomas Haney Sen. Sec.
  • Thursday, March 17, 2011 : 5pm - 7pm - Maple Ridge Leisure Centre, 11995 Haney Pl.

Online registration will also be available starting on February 25th, 2011 and can be accessed from this website.


2011 Track & Field - Start Date and Practice Schedule

High School Athletes: Ages 14 to 19 (Grades 8 to 12). For those athletes trying to qualify for Fraser Valley 's, Provincials or Nationals, practices start in late February. For all other high school athletes, start date is in early March. Practices will be held on Monday, Wednesdays and Thursday's, and occasionally on Saturdays until the week of the B.C. High School Championships. After that, practices will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. All practices take place at the Maple Ridge Secondary School Track Facility

Start Date: March 29th Sessions: Mon,Wed & Thurs Time: 5:00pm - 6:45pm

Junior Development Athletes: Ages 9 to 13. Practices start in early April and will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday’s at the Maple Ridge Secondary School Track Facility There will be 8 to 9 competitive meets* during the season for athletes registered in the competitive program. Core Focus: a run, jump, throw program where athletes develop skills in all event areas as well as agility, co-ordination, flexibility, strength, etc.

Start Date: April 4th Sessions: Mon,Wed & Thurs Time: 6:10pm - 7:30pm

Track Rascals: Ages 6 thru 8. First practices will be held in late May and will run for 10 sessions at the Maple Ridge Secondary School Track Facility on Mondays and Wednesdays right thru to the end of June. Core Focus: a basic introduction to running, jumping & throwing.

Start Date: April 4th Sessions: Mon,Wed & Thurs Time: 6:10pm - 7:30pm

The above practice schedules may be modified from time to time so parents and athletes are encouraged to check for regular updates. Additional details on programs, registration requirements and updated practice schedules will always be posted on our website.

A Competition Schedule will be included in the 2011 Parent/Athlete Handbook that will be distributed to all members at the time of registration or during the first week of practice.
