Eagle Classic 2008
Track & Field Meet
May 10, 2008

Golden Ears Athletics track and field club extends a warm invitation to all the schools and track clubs in BC to attend the fourth annual Eagle Classic track and field meet in Maple Ridge May 10, 2008. This year`s meet will be bigger and better than ever and our goal is to provide a first rate experience for athletes and spectators in terms of fun and excitement.

The meet will include events in sprints, distance, jumps, and throws. The historic mile will again be our feature distance race; this event is only rarely offered nowadays but has special significance for B.C., as it was in Vancouver that the four-minute mile barrier was broken for the first time by two competitors, Roger Bannister and John Landy.

This year will again feature keeper trophies for the top three in each event category (for elementary age) and ribbons for places fourth to eighth. Beautiful perpetual trophies will be presented to the top high jumpers of the day; the top male and female mile runners, the most outstanding individual meet performance, the top school or club team.

There will again be professional electronic photo finish timing, professional announcing, and officiating by BC Athletics. The meet has BC Athletics ‘top 10’ status.

We hope to see you and your athletes at this year’s meet!
